Montenegro Stage of the Experience Sharing Program is Completed
Volunteer students from various universities of Türkiye went to Montenegro to participate in various activities of TİKA within the scope of 2022 Experience Sharing Program (TPP) as implemented by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
Volunteer students, who went to Montenegro within the scope of the 2022 Program, examined the projects supported by TİKA on site and participated in activities in the field. Volunteer students ride bicycles together with the volunteers of Euromost, an NGO carrying out activities in Bijelo Polje town to raise awareness for protecting the environment, to arrive at Nedakusi Primary School in the town center. The students then helped landscaping of the school as well as installation of benches in the school garden.
Visiting historical and cultural places
Volunteer ambassadors also had the opportunity to visit a number of historical and cultural places in Montenegro. Within this scope, they examined on-site various historical buildings as previously restored by TİKA such as the Osmanagic Mosque located in Podgorica, Clock Tower Nizam Mosque, Mehmed Fatih Madrasah, student dormitory located in Cetinje, old embassy building, and the Selimiye Mosque in Bar. At the end of the day, volunteer students also visited Yunus Emre Institute and Ziraat Bank offices in Montenegro.
Students were provided with information about Montenegro’s environmental protection policies
Having attended a seminar about environmental protection policies and practices of Montenegro, which is defined as an “ecological state”, a term rarely used for any other state in the world, our students were provided with information about biodiversity in the country and protection of natural heritage by the experts from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Montenegro Directorate of National Parks. Finally, our students visited the key protected national parks of the country with the experts from the agency.
