A Memorandum Of Undertanding Was Signed With The Presidential Agency Of International Cooperation  Of Columbia (Apc)

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate and the Presidential Agency of International Cooperation of Columbia (APC) to increase mutual cooperation and reinforce the existing relations.

The Chairman of the Presidential Agency of International Cooperation of Columbia (Agencia Presidencial de Cooperacion International - APC) Sandra Bessudo Lion and accompanying delegation, who came to Turkey on October 7, 2013 for a number of contacts to explore mutual cooperation opportunities between Colombia and Turkey and exchange ideas, visited the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate (TİKA) after meetings with Kosgeb, the GAP administration and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Fisheries and Water Works General Directorate.

During the visit a meeting was arranged first between the TİKA authorities of the East and South Asia, Pacific and Latin Administration (DOGAL) and the APC delegation. Following the meeting the Memorandum of Understanding which will prepare the foundations for the facilitation of cooperation between TİKA and APC in a number of different fields such as tourism, social and economical infrastructure, science and technology, energy, productivity and competition, agriculture and community support projects and the further development of existing relations, was signed by Dr. Serdar Çam on behalf of TİKA and Sandra Bessudo Lion on behalf of APC.

APC Chairman Lion, who spoke after the agreement was signed, said that the relations between the two countries were extremely good and hoped for theses signatures to make the existing good relations even stronger.

TİKA had previously undertaken technical cooperation projects in Latin America in the countries of Peru, Bolivia and Guatemala. The memorandum of understanding is an important step towards cooperation projects to be conducted in Columbia.
