Health Screening for 7 Thousand Mali Citizens

A health screening project, conducted in collaboration with TİKA Presidency and the Anatolia Medical Doctors Association (ANATIPDER) was completed successfully. Within this project, 27 doctors, who went to the capital of Mali, Bamako, provided health screening to 7000 citizens. They also delivered three tons of free medicines and other medical items worth over one million USD to Malians.

The medical team, including doctors, pharmacists, biochemists and anesthesia technicians examined patients in three different regions:  Kati, Hamdalay and the district for the elderly  people in the capital, Bamako. The Turkish medical team from ANATIPDER examined  6500 patients and performed 27 surgeries, 20 cataract operations and 27 general surgeries. The team also provided 240 dental examinations. The medical team then went to four villages, 70 km distance from the capital Bamako and examined patients there and delivered medical equipment.

The project, carried out with the support of TİKA presidency, was welcomed by the public and government officials, with great enthusiasm.
