A new step was made in the context of “2008-2010 Work Programme” executed in cooperation with the newly reconstructed National Institute of State Statistics and Information of Turkmenistan (NISSI).  In this context, a working visit was made by the experts from the Turkish Statistical Institute. A training programme was organized for the NISSI experts during the visit. Participants were informed on the following:  1/  the “development of sampling methods for agricultural statistics”,  2/   “developing sampling methods consistent with the household research that is aimed at being taken in the field of labor statistics”  and   3/   “determining harmony with the EU classification system”.

On the other hand, TİKA supplied equipment including computers, printers and UPS to  NISSI, which wants to benefit from the possibilities of modern information technologies and aims at the automation of the statistical studies. In his speech during the ceremony, Kakamurat Mommadov, Chairman of the State Statistics Committee, stated that co-operation with TİKA, in the field of statistics was is rapidly improving and experts of the State Statistics Committee got information on the subject during their visit to Turkey. Mammadov finally expressed his thanks to TİKA and its staff.
