Big Investment in Serbia and Montenegro

A part of the infrastructure in the Sanjak Region, which is divided between Serbia and Montenegro following separation of the two states in 2006, has been rebuilt within the framework of a “Drinking Water Supply Line Renovation Project”. The supplied pipes, that can provide a 150-year service life to the Sanjak region,, were delivered to the municipal officials of Tutin and Rojaye Municipalities.

Renovations on  the 7.5 km long asbestos pipeline network (which remained from the time of former Yugoslavia) will be carried out within the framework of a protocol signed with Tutin and Rojaye Municipalities. The new pipes will be submitted in 3 stages. In the first phase, 2.5 km long pipe was delivered to the municipal officials. The project is expected to provide t clean drinking water to the people of the region as from 2009.

In their speech during the ceremony, Mayor of Tutin Şemsudin Kuçeviç and Mayor of Rojaye Nusret Kalaç expressed their thanks to TİKA for the support their organization has been giving to the project. There have been problems with the water supply line for a long time. They also expressed their happiness of the growing co-operation between the two countries.
