TİKA President Musa Kulaklıkaya received the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Kandeh Yumkella and an accompanying delegation. The first “Cooperation Agreement” between the two organizations was signed during the visit.
The agreement was signed favorably with the common geography which falls within the sphere of interest of the two organizations ranging from Africa, Caucus, Central Asia (including Afghanistan), Mediterranean to Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The agreement aims at developing common projects in the areas as agricultural and industrial development, food security, development of private sector along with small and medium-sized enterprises, energy productivity, environmental protection, technology expansion and investment promotion.
In his speech during the ceremony,TİKA President Musa Kulaklıkaya emphasized 1/ the importance of the visit by UNIDO Director-General and the accompanying delegation and 2/ the cooperation agreement from the point of the future common projects which are planned to be carried out jointly by the two organizations. In response UNIDO Director-General Kandeh Yumkella expressed that they are ready to share the information and experience they have in the process of carrying out projects and facilities.
