Through cooperation between TIKA and the Ministry of Education of Turkey, a delegation of officials from the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science visited Ankara and Istanbul to study the education system in Turkey.
The delegation of 21 who visited Turkey in order to benefit from the 12 years of experience accumulated by the general education institutions first received a presentation titled “The Turkish Education System” by the Ministry of Education’s Board of Instruction and Discipline on “grant-based education”, “pre-school education” and “formal and widespread education” in Ankara. The delegation was then given the opportunity to study up close the projects currently being implemented at the Yenimahalle Avni Akyol Primary School, the Ankara College of Science, the Ankara College of Industry Careers and the Girls’ College of Careers.
Following the completion of the Ankara leg of the visit, the delegation visited the Çapa Anatolian Teachers College and the Çapa Primary School in Istanbul. The delegation who then visited the Istanbul Director of Education Ata Özer collected information on the operation of the Istanbul Board of Education and the “The Fight against Violence in Schools” project amongst others.
