| Training for Afghan Doctors in Turkey |
The doctors working in the hospitals and clinics managed by TİKA in Afghanistan have come to Turkey for a training program. 40 Afghani health staff working in the Afghan-Turk Friendship Hospitals in Meymene and Şibirgan and in the clinics of Talokan were given a one month training course in the related branches of various hospitals in Ankara.

| New Step in the Project of International Police Training |
An “International Police Training Project” aimed at increasing security co-operation among the countries within the scope of the project in cooperation between TİKA and Turkey’s General Directorate of Security with the Police Academy, Kirgiz and Macedonian police officers were given training on “police defensive tactics”, “analyzing blood signs", "the course dynamics of incidents” and “disaster victim identifications”.

| Montenegro Madrasah was opened by Minister of State Yazıcıoğlu |
Minister of State Prof. Dr. M. Said Yazıcıoğlu, TİKA President Musa Kulaklıkaya and an accompanying delegation went to Montenegro for the opening of the Montenegro Madrasah whose building was constructed by TİKA and for official talks with the authorities. Minister Yazıcıoğlu met the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Management Yusuf Kalemperoviç and the Vice Prime Minister Vujica Lazaviç.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Minister Yazıcıoğlu informed them that the Turkish embassy and TİKA Program Coordination Office had begun to operate in Podgorica, and he expressed his happiness at seeing the mutual relations between the two states make greater improvement each day. Indicating the role of TİKA, in the development of relations to a higher level, Minister Yazıcıoğlu stated that many projects and activities in various cities were carried out by TİKA and he continued his talk by saying “we are gathered here today for the opening of Montenegro Madrasah as being among one of those projects.”

| Distribution of Qurban Meat to 42.000 Palestinian Families |
The “Qurban Project” developed by TİKA in Palestine, aimed at delivering Qurban meat to every region and city, succeeded to distribute qurban meat to 42,200 families. 124 beef, 258 sheep in Jerusalem and the West Bank and 150 beef in the Gazza Strip were all sacrificed and the meat was distributed to the families whose names were determined by the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs and related zakat committees.

| International Conference on Women and Democratic Governance in Eastern Europe and CIS Countries was held in Istanbul |
The International Conference entitled “Women and Democratic Governance in the Eastern European Countries and CIS Countries” was supported jointly by UNDP and TİKA and held at the Istanbul Hilton Hotel. The two day conference was attended by UN and UNDP Turkey representative Mahmud Eyüp and TİKA Vice President Dr. Mustafa Şahin along with deputies, CSO representatives, academics, researchers and media representatives from all over the world as well as members of the political parties from Eastern European countries and CIS countries. The conference gave the massage that gender equality makes a society stronger.

| VII. European Turkish Periodical Symposium Held in Rotterdam |
“VII. European Turkish Periodical Symposium”, organized jointly by the Turkevi Foundation in Holland, TİKA and UETD (Union of European Turkish Democrats) was held at STOR (Rotterdam Turkish Entrepreneurs Club) in its Istanbul hall. The symposium, entitled “European Union, Human Rights and Turkish speaking communities” was attended by the representatives of Turkish publications from Holland, Germany, France, England, Denmark, Belgium, Romania, Kosovo, Albania, West Thrace, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldova and Israel and Turkish politicians, academicians and CSO representatives living in these countries.
