The protocol of a high school, to be established for Ahiska Turks in the city of Talgar located in Almaty oblast, a region of Kazakhstan was signed jointly by the TİKA Presidency, the Ahiska Turkish National Centre, the “Education Fund for Deprived Children” and the Talgar Regional Governance.

Çlirim 2 Kindergarten in Albania was opened in a ceremony

The Çlirim 2 Kindergarten in Berat, Albania was built in the 1970s. Following renovations and repairs, financed by the TİKA Presidency, the kindergarten was opened in a ceremony. The inauguration ceremony of the renovated kindergarten, the biggest Kindy in the city, with a capacity for 200 children was attended by Vice Prime Minister Genc Pollo, Berat Mayor Fadil Nasufi, TİKA Tirana Program Coordinator Dr. Ali Özgün Öztürk, “Çlirim 2” Kindergarten Director Monika Cana, along with directors of other kindergartens and many top-level officials.

Inauguration of the Historical Konjic Bridge in a Groundbreaking Ceremony

The restored historic Konjic Bridge, one of the finest Ottoman monuments of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina was inaugurated in a groundbreaking ceremony on June 16, 2009 at local time19:30. The restoration of the historic bridge, located in Konjic city near the capital of Sarajevo, was carried out by the Turkish Co-operation and Development Administration (TİKA). A ceremony for the inauguration of Konjic Bridge was attended by State Minister Faruk Çelik and Faruk Nafiz Özak along with TİKA President Musa Kulaklıkaya and attracted great attention among the people of the region. The ceremony included choral singing, a performance of the whirling dervishes and the mehter team’s (Janissaries Band) walking across the bridge drew great interest.

Clean Drinking Water to the Residential Science High School for Gifted and Talented Children

There was a problem with the drinking and washing water at the Residential Science High School for Gifted and Talented Children in Bahcesaray, the autonomous Republic of the Crimea. This problem was resolved with the support provided by TİKA. A system was established for providing a continuous supply of water to the 205 student capacity school which had had trouble with the availability of water. This was a result of the water supply system being out of order since teaching there began in 1993.

Equipment Support to Kyrgyzstan Higher Education Committee

Technical equipment, including 10 computers, 5 printers, scanners and photocopy machines was provided by TİKA to the Kyrgyzstan National Higher Education Committee and the equipment was delivered to the authorities in a ceremony.

Montenegro and Serbia Presented a Plaque to TİKA

The TİKA Presidency has provided many important projects in Montenegro and the Sanjak Region of Serbia. As such they were deserving of a recognition plaque by the relevant authorities of these countries. The first plaque was delivered in a ceremony by the administration of the kindergarten whose restoration was carried out by TİKA in the Ulçin city of Montenegro. In a ceremony, the authorities first presented their thanks to TİKA, then to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and finally to Ulçin Police Department officials for their contributions to the project, as well.
